As a result of reports that thousands of Germans are entering Danzig for a demonstration in the week-end, M. Bonnet, in a speech, again emphasised in deliberate tones that Britain and Franco will immediately aid Poland in the event of her independence rights being attacked.
M. Bonnet previously conferred with the Polish Ambassador.
A decree authorises building of 14 new warships, including four heavy and six light destroyers.
"Rumania flatly refutes Germany'* excuses for expansion eastward's" declared Dr. Gafencu, Rumanian Foreign Minister, in the Chamber of Deputies. 0 "The space within Rumanian borders is reserved only for the needs of the Rumanian nation, which is determined to defend its independence even with arms. At the first touch of our territory we will tight. Rumania will not accep't new obligations regarding minorities except those she imposes within her own borders," he declared. FRENCH PESSIMISM.
