Baron Louis de Rothschild, who has been released by the Nazis, has arrived in Paris from Zurich.

A sensational affair is reported from Bakersfield, California. Mr. George Palmer Putnam, publisher, widower of the late Amelia (Karhart) Putnam, famous airwoman, was found bound and gagged in a vacant house early yesterday morning. He told the police he had been kidnapped from his home at Hollywood on the previous night by two men who spoke German.

Mr. Putnam recently announced that he had received a letter threatening his death unless he desisted from publishing an anti-Nazi book, "The Man Who Killed Hitler." He told the sheriff the men had assaulted him in his garage and driven him away in his own motor car.
