AUCKLAND ROTARY CLUB.

TO-DAY'S MEETING. President Syd Harbutt occupied the chair at to-day's lunch meeting of the Auckland Rotary Club, held in Milne and Choyce's reception hall. There was a large attendance, and among the visitors were: Messrs. E. Anwyl (Melbourne), A. H. Phillips (Sydney), D. V. Bryant (Hamilton), L. C. Trembath (Whangarei), W. L. Davidson and I. H. Boas (Melbourne), W. G. Fernie, D. Fernie and. D. Brooker (Christchurch).

The president referred to the death of Mr. J. S. Fletcher, a brother of two of the members, and also to that of King Albert of Belgium, and at his request members stood for a few moments as a mark of sympathy and respect. The attention of members was drawn to the approaching district conference, to be held at New Plymouth on Februry 27, 28 and March 1. Mr. Andrew Paterson was installed as a member. The speaker of the day was Rotarian Sir Geo. Fowlds, who "spoke on the Rotary movement. The vote of thanks was moved by Rotarian W. Coltman.
