8.8.C. AS UNIVERSITY.

"The 8.8.C. has become in a sense a University, because, thanks to the excellent way in which it is organised and controlled, it can call on the services of the best people," said Professor Winifred Cullis, speaking at the inaugural meeting of the summer school for the training of wireless group leaders at Oxford. "At first it was quite hard to persuade people that it was worth their while to talk on the wireless. I think we have quite got over that now. Really distinguished people do realise that it is wovth while for them to come, because they do get a wonderful audience." The director of talks at the 8.8.C, Mr. Siepmann, said that one of the really important things about the Board of Adult Education of the 8.8.C. was that it was beginning to inculcate in the public mind a sense of tolerance and respect for other people's views as the result of its talks.
