Sir, —Tho following paragraph in the Bulletin of tho linli iriat. nnist bo of no small interest to tho ollicials of tho Waihi Miners' and Workora' Union, and the hundreds of its moiuliors directly concerned :-" The Bui lotin is told by a local correspondent that tho management of the Waihi mino (11.L.) hoops always in foud nino days' pay from tho sums duo to all tho men employed ; that is to say, a man for his first fortnight, gots only ono day's pay; tho roat is retained until his omployniont ends, it is a grave scandal, if true, and should oiigago tho attention ot tho tioddon Govern* mont." In connection' with vvhioh, it is a surpriso to mo that a porsistont champion of tho cause of tho workers is conspicuous by its absonco among tho nownpapors of tho Union Hall. Howevor, as tho Bulletin is independent of my solicitations on its behalf, it is to be hoped tho Union will lonvo no stone unturnod to make this matter ongage Iho attention of tho Soddon Government.--! am, etc, Toiler,
