WAIHI EXTENDED The manager of tho Wailii Extended mino is effecting to-day the necessary preliminaries for sinking a winze on tho lor'o noar tho faco of tho drivo on tho ioef, which has been advanced rather over 30 foot, Tho winze will ho sunk about 7 feet from tho footwull. It is also intended to resume the sinking of tho shaft, which, as our leaders tuo tuvftto lifts not yet been sunk lower than Uc 500 feet lovol. Tho Bulking ot a winzo on tho roef and the continuation of sinking tho shaft show a progressive policy, and in the courso of time the hopes of tho community will no doubt bo realised, MINING AT THE THAMES (Special to tho Daily Telegram.) Thames, this day. MOANATAIRI The day shift wero yesterday engaged partitioning tho winze to improve the air, and so good is it now that work may bo continued for another 50 ioot if necessary. Tho quality of ore is as good as evor, wiih an abundance of copper, pyrites, and notches of gold. It is proposed to start crushing tbiß week. Thero aro already 25 loads of oro from tho winzo for tho stamper. It is not yet certain how many tons ot the main reof will bo crushed, for most attention has heon given to tho winzo.
