Melbourne, Jan 8. — The public meeting held at the Town Hall on the Pacific annexation question was attended by fully four thousand persons. A meeting was also held last evening at Ballarat to consider the question, and resolutions of a similar purport to those adopted at the Town Hall meeting were passed. There were about four thousand persons present.

Melbourne, Jan B.— The yield of gold for this colony during the past year is estimated at 955,000 ounces, and increase of 191,500 as compared with the previous twelve months.
