SHIPPING TELEGRAMS.
Auckland, Jan. 7. Arrived — Ship Waitangi, (Capt. Lemon), from London, (22nd Sept.). She has a 15 ton gun for the defence at North Head and 14 cases of dynamite detonators and 638 quarter casks of gunpowder. Arrived — Ship Dunedin, (Captain Koberts) from London (6th October). The American ship John Bryce, bound from Puget Sound to Melbourne with timber, was abandoned and disabled at sea on the Bth December in Latitude 20 deg. south, Longitude, 165*50 deg. west. One man, M. Nielson, was washed overboard and drowned on the previous day and the remainder of the crew reached Samoa on the 16th in an open boat. [bt cable.] Stdnbt, Jan. 7. The three-masted schooner Heath was wrecked near Broken Bay, north of Sydney. Two seamen, named Ohlsen and Swenson, were drowned, and others suffered severely from exposure. The schooner Buster, laden with dynamite, which was dismasted and abandoned in a gale off Gabo Island, has been recovered by a steamer sent in search of her, and brought Bafely into port. New Yoek, Jan. 7. Arrived — Barque Albert Russell from Auckland, dates to September 23.
