It has transpired that H.M. ship Emerald will proceed to Auckland from this port, on August 31st. The child Woods, who has been suffering from small pox since July 25, died at the Quarantine Station to-day. The Premier, the Hon. Sir Henry Parkes, is indisposed, and has retired to Falconbridge to recruit his health. Melbourne, August 5. A telegram has been received to»day, from Aden, announcing the arrival at that place of the steamship Protos, which left Melbourne for London, on June 29. Her cargo of frozen meat
and provisions, is reported to be in excellent condition. Adelaide, August 6. Wheat is quiet at 4s 9d } town flour is quoted at £11 5s ; country brands, £10 12s 6d. Freights to London are unchanged— steamers, 40s j sailing, 37s 6d.
