STRANGE SEA BURIAL.
LADY SCATTERS MAN'S ASHES ON THE ATLANTIC.
A lady., who left Liverpool on Saturday by the Lucania, had crossed tli'e Atlantic on a strange mission. A prominent New York business man, who diei recently directed in his will that his remains should be cremated and the ashes scattered en the waters of the Atlantic from the Ciinard liner.
The Lucania, being, the special favourite of the gentleman, was selected, and the lady in question at a time fixed, so that simultaneously the family could attend' a memorial service in New York, cast the ashes from an urn into the ocean.
A certificate '.was given by the captain of the, Lucania stating the latitude and longitude in which the ashes were committed to the deep.
