ENEMY ZEPPELIN
TRAVELS r.P THE TYNE. MANY BOMBS DROPPED. LITTLE HARM DONE. Received 8.5 p.m., April loth. LONDON, April 15. A zeppelin dropped several bombs in the outskirts of Blyth, Northumberland, last night. The night was dark and windless. The zeppclin destroyed a. few houses, and some of tho inmates were wounded. At AVallsend bombs narrowly missed a train full of passengers. Received 10.25 p.m., April 15th. LONDON, April 15. The zeppelin at eight o'clock traversed a large area on mid-Tyne. All lights on tho north coast were immediately extinguished, including Hull, electricity was cut off; Newcastle tramcars wero at a. standstill, and tho railway station was closed until eleven,. The zeppelin travelled up the Tyne. The extinction of tho lights confused the airmen. Apparently there was no loss of life though twenty bombs were counted. A haystack was sot ablaze at Choppington, a."'l an outhouse was burnt at Seaton. Frur fires wero started in dwellingLouses in "Wallsend. One bomb fell in a room whore a woman was bathing a It-by, and tho woman was slightly injured. No damage was dono at Blyth, thfc bombs falling on the outskirts of th« town
There was no panic. Some people ;<:ok refuge in cellars, whilst others cme into the open to watch the spectacle of bursting incendiary bombs. The raid occupied about forty minuses

Received 12.30 a.m., April 16th. LONDON, April 15. It is estimated that tho zeppelin was at an altitude, of 2000 feet. Special constabulary were not summoned and troops were not requisitioned, but anti-aircraft searchlights were playing in all directions immediately. i\o damage was done at Jarrow where bombs fell in the river. 'The zeppelin was finally seen above the mouth of the Tyne heading for Germany.
