WARDEN'S COURT.—YESTERDAY.

(Before W. Fraseb, Esq., KM., Warden).

Thomas and Oihbeh v. Geo. Smith.— In this case Mr Macdonald applied to have an adjournment for a week in consequence of the illness of one of the counsel for the" plaintiffs.—Adjourned for a week.

Deaikage oe Mines. — Pumping Association v. Imperial City, same v. Wtago, same v. Hazelbank. These cases were also adjourned for a week.

Mcllhonk v. Queeh of the Thames G.M.O.—This was a plaint laid by. the Inspector of Miner's Kights that the defendants were engaged iu raining operations without being the holder of a miner's right.—Mr Macdonald for the plaintiff put in the certificate of incorporation of the company. He called F. J. Wardell, secretary of the Queen of the Thames Gold , Mining Uompany (Registered), the owners of the mine. The company was engaged in mining operations, tie ,• produced the miners' right taken out by him on behalf o£ the company on the 7th instant. Previous to that the company had no miners' right. —His Worship said that under the circumstances he would let them off with a nominal peaalty of 20s and costs, bub he would let it be known that if any company was again brought before him on this charge ha would be obliged to make an example. The costs amounted to £2 2s.
