SUICIDE AND ATTEMPTED \ MURDER. EVIDENCE AT THE INQUEST. Prets Association. AUCKLAND, December 1. The inquest on Albon George Gaudin, who on November 14 shot his ■wife and then committed suicide, was resumed to-dav.
Mrs Gaudin, in evidence, said that for three years she and her lived unhappily, and consequently she had decided to leave him. She returned, taking her child with her, to get some clothing, and she rang the door bell and explained to her husband what she had come for.
Her husband said: "AH right; come in," and she did, and was collecting clothing, whistling as she did so. She could not say why she was* whistling. She asked her husband if some wrapping paper she wanted was of any use to him, and he did not answer, but fired -seven shots at her; One of them went through her hand, one through h<ir arm, and a third entered just below her heart. , She ran out of the* house screaming* .."■'";' Other evidence was .to'the effect that Gaudin was found dead in! the doorway in a pool of blood, with a revolver in his right hand. The Coroner returned a vei'diet. of suicide.
