COUNTRY NEWS.
(From Our Special Correspondents.) OHOKA. A largely-attended meeting was held in the Town Hall last evening to consider the formation of a Defence Eifle Club. Rev. Fraer, president of the Miniature Eifle Club, presided. The requisite number of signatures were forthcoming to enable an official application- to be made. The following_list of officials were proposed: —President, Rev. Fraer; vice-presidents, Rev. Martin, Messrs E. Ward, T. Skevington, and E. O. Dixon; secretary, Mr Knight; treasurer, Mr Walker; captain, Mr J. Power; -sergeant, Mr Sangster. It was also decided to arrange for a rabbit drive at an early date in aid of the Belgium Food Fund.
