PELTED WITH EGGS.
TEMPERANCE PREACHERS ATTACKED. Press Association. GORE, November 16. Three local clergymen were engaged in addressing an open-air meeting in the main street on Saturday evening on the temperance question, out their efforts were a failure, owing to the hostility shown by a small section of a large crowd, who continuously interrupted the first two speakers in a most insulting manner. The speakers i'ook this in good part, despite the fact that eggs were thrown at them. The third clergyman closed the proceedings by leading the singing of the National Anthem.
