BOY COMMITS SUICIDE.
FOUND HANGING. A TRAGIC FAMILY HISTORY. John Alexander a 13-year-old boy, living with his aunt, Mrs Garland, at Chapman's Road, Hillsborough, committed suicide by hanging about midday yesterday. He had been scolded by his aunt for some misdemeanour, and had been warned that the police would be brought. About an hour later Mrs Garland found the boy hanging by a rope from a tree in the garden. He was qiiite dead. A neighbour cut the body down, and communicated with the police. At the inquest, conducted by Mr >H W. Bishop, S.M., Coroner, it was stated that the boy's father and an uncle had committed suicide. Mrs Garland stated that the boy was very self-willed, but she had not dreamed that he would do anything desperate when she reproved him. ''■'.'
A verdict of "Suicide by hanging" was returned.
