FOOD FOR TROOPS.
ACCUSATION AND ANSWER. i [From our own Parliamentary Reporter.] WELLINGTON, September 30. In the House of Representatives this afternoon Mr E. H. Clark (Chalmers) said that troops were complaining about the goods which were being supplied them on the troopships. Two of them had informed him that after three hours' marching on Monday last they were not allowed tea or water to drink. Something should be done to Remedy the supply of water, for one of these men had been compelled to go a street trough ancMrink out of that. Mr G. M. Thomson (Dunedin North): They ought to go home to their mothers. The Minister of Defence, in reply, said that tea was supplied on the night in question. It was necessary to put a guard over the water on the voyage, but he did not know whether it was so necessary now. With regard to the other goods supply it was excellent. ,
