A new w r orld's record for throwing the javelin was created at the Baltic games, Stockholm, Sweden, on July 6, by F. Myyrae, of Finland, who threw 63 metres and 29 centimetres, or approximately 207 feet 7* inches. The American record hitherto has stood at 169 feet 10i inches. The world's record made at the last Olympic games was 200 feet 1 11-20 inched, by J. J. Saaristo, of Finland. • 1
