AN AFFILIATION CASE.

The hearing of the Scott Myers and Crozier affiliation case was concluded yesterday afternoon, before Mr < V. G. Day, S.M., Albert Crozier, McfendarA, denied that he was the father of the child, and was cross-examined at length by Mr Flesher. Defendant was the only witness called by Mr Harper, who then asked for an adjournment. Mr Flesher strongly opposed the application, which was refused by the Bench. The Magistrate made an order, adjudicating defendant the father of the child, and ordering him to pay 7/6 per w«"k. Past maintenance as from October-* 20, 1912, was allowed, and security fixed at £IOO. The Magistrate said he had no power to suspend the order pending an appeal to the Supreme Court. Although the defendant was successful on appeal, he still had to pay, this being a defe.?L of the statute.
