AMURI A. & P. ASSOCIATION.

The annual meeting of the Amuri A. and P. Association was held in the Coronation Library Hall on Saturday evening, Mr K. Pettigrew presiding. Before proceeding with the business the chairman proposed a motion of .condolence with the members of the McKie family in the death of the late Mrs McKie. The motion was carried in silence, members standing. The minutes of the last annual meeting were read and confirmed. The president presented his annual report, which showed that the Association had a membership of 105. The report also referred to the loss sustained by the Association in the death of the late Mr 1). U MaefarJane. A reference to the planting scheme of the Association for the improvement of the. Waian Domain brought forth strong expressions of disapproval from members at the apathy of the Domain Board. It is intended Bcmt day to hold the annual show on the Domain grounds. The secretary read the balance-sheet, showing receipts j amounted to £265 6/5, the principal j items being subscriptions £54 17/6, j special prizes .£6O 9/6, entry fees £7l , 14/6, and gate money £l3 12/-. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Correspondence was received from the Canterbury Jockey Club donating £5 in prizes for best hunters carrying over list. A vote of thanks to the club was passed. A letter was received from Mr "W. E. Judkins donating a silver cup, to be known as the "Garden Cup," to be awarded for most points in the vegetable section. The donor was accorded a hearty vote of thanks. The following new members were proposed: Messrs D. Eutherford, H. Parnham, and J. Kennedy. It was decided to go on with the show in March. The Show Eevision Committee presented its report, which outlined very" far-reachiug changes in the work of the Association, the report itself being a very bulky document. The principal alteration was the establishment of a fised minimum first prize. The whole report was adopted with but one slight alteration.
