NORTHERN ASSOCIATION. Press Association. AUCKLAND, July 15. • The Northern Boxing Association championship finals were fought last night. The results were: — •Bantams, H. Gilchrist beat S. Brahm; feathers, J. Newsoh (Taumarunui) beat N. Bennetts; light-weights, M. James beat F. Craig; welter, J. Kelland (Taumarunui) beat J. Grantham; middleweights, P. W. Closs beat J. Cadman; heavy-weights, C.. Savoury won from J. M'Hemp, who hurt his wrist in the semi-final, by default. The committee chose the following team to compete in the New Zealand championships at Wanganui:' —Bantam, H. Gilchrist; feather, N. Bennetts; light, N. James; welter, J. Grantham; middle, P. W. Closs; heavy, C. Savoury.
