The North Canterbury Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Club's annual supper was held in the Oddfellows' Hall, Rangiora, last evening, Mr G. L. Minifie presiding. A fine musical programme was given by the following ladies and gentlemen:—Mrs Trollop, Mrs M'Neely, the Misses Young and Jean Dalziel, Messrst H. H. M'Neely and A. Trollop. The following* toasts were •honoured: —"The King" (the chairman), "The Judges" (Mr C. W. Bell, responded to by Messrs W. G.'King and J. B. Crompton), "Kind,rßd Societies" (Mr J. W. Bishop and Mr W. Spicer), "Executive Officers" (Mr,C. W. Bell and Mr F. H. Lovell) ; , "The Ladies" (Mr C. I. Jennings and- Mr C. E. Fox), "The Press" )Mr M. Hope and Messrs W. Wilson, C. I. Jennings, and C. Fox). A vote of sympathy was passed to the president, Mr J. J. Wilson, who was ill and unable to be present. HIGH SCHOOL. ; . The Rangiora High Sehool Board met last Mr I?. Ball (chairman) Residing. The following'members were present: —Messrs E. R. Good, C. I. Jennings, H. Boyd, and S. A. Clark (secretary)_. A "donation of two guineas was received from Hie Farmers' Union and one of ten guineas from the Northern A. and P. Association.

The Education Department wrote stating that the capitation rate of 7/6 would bo paid if aO hours' instruction in agriculture and wool classing were •given. • / '

Mr Clark was deputed to confer with Mr Brunton, headmaster of the Southbrook School, as to the accommodation ot the Southbrook children at the woodwork classes.

It was resolved to purchase sufficient garden tools to keep a large class going. Receipts for the month amounted to £H4 11/.'v expenditure £156 1/4, leaving a credit balance of £392 16/2.
