DISPUTE OVER BLOCK. rrc-is Association.- *- ' "WELLINGTON, June 11. Ramsay M'Dougall; of Waikato, is suing J, W. Chapman, of Waikato, in the Supreme .-Court for £3OOO damages for alleged misrepresentations regarding a block of 1830 acres of swamp land between Hamilton and Morj-insville, sold by the defendant to plaintiff for £10,065. Mr Wilford in opening the case, said the land in the block contained 95 per cent, of water. Plaintiff was induced to buy by a statement that the land only needed ploughing to produce astonishing crops, whereas counsel alleged it was absolutely,.worthless and was part of 10,000 acres which were •riven away. The claim is for the recovery of money which M'Dougall had actually in trying to farm the. land. The hearing is before the Chief Justice and a' special jury of twelve. .
