SENSATIONAL ARREST.
ALLEGED EMBEZZLEMENT. HORACE CRAMOND, OF WELLINGTON. MANAGER FOB COOK'S TOURIST AGENCY. (Sun Special.) WELLINGTON, June 9. The police here have received advice of the arrest, in Sydney, of Horace Cramond, manager in Wellington for Cook's Tourist Agency, on a charge;of embezzling £350, and other sums. Cramond, in his younger days, was a prominent Auckland yachtsman and oarsman, but has been for many years manager here for Cook's, in which position he succeeded Mr Robert Angus, who is now the Auckland manager. It is understood that an investigation shows that there are alleged irregularities running into four figures. Cramond, who has been on sick leave, is popular locally in bowling and other circles. He has a wife and several children.
The arrest has caused a great sensation here.
