DROWNED WHILE FORDING. Preas Association. AUCKLAND, June 9. * Arthur Mann, 26 years of age, was drowned at Riverhead while crossing the. river on horseback. The animal slipped into a deep pool, from which Mann's body was recovered half an hour later, v WHARF WORKER INJURED. NEW PLYMOUTH, June 9. A wharf labourer named Fitzpatrick had a leg broken while assisting to discharge the Walkure this morning through a sling breaking. It is feared that he also suffered internal injuries. John Lucas, a miato. employed at' the Ocean Beach freezing works, fell in frojit of a. moving truck, the wheels passing over his legs. This necessitated imputation, and he died in the hospital this morning. Deceased - , who was married, leaves a widow and family. :
