PERSONAL.

Mr J. Craigie, M.P. for Timaru, left for the north last evening. The Eev. G. H. Gibb arrived from Wellington this morning. Commander C. H. Luck, of Dunedin, is staying at Warner's Hotel. Colonel Hay hurst left for Wellington by the ferry steamer last evening. Mr W. Floyd Harrop, of Auckland, is 'staying at the United Service Hotel. Messrs H. C. Gayford and T. Maclennan, of Dunedin, are staying at Coker's Hotel.

Dr Gilmore, of Southland, will take up the duties of resident medical officer at the Timaru Hospital this week. Amongst the visitors to , Christchurch who are staying at Warner's Hotel, are Messrs W. F. Garrett (Sydney) and H. Taylor (Wellington). Captain P. B. Anderson, instructor in musketry for the Canterbury military district, left for Wellington last evening to attend a conference of musketry instructors.

Mr G. A. Colville, formerly of Waimate, South Canterbury, and .now of Port Awanui, is visiting Christchurch. Mr Colville is hon. secretary of the Wairarapa Bugby Sub-union.
