MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
(Before Mr H. W. Bishop, S.M.) DRUNKENNESS. On charges of drunkenness, five first offenders were ordered to pay 5/- or 24 hours. James Reogh, a second offender, was fined 10/-, with the option of 48 hours' gaol. Margaret M 'Dermott, also a second offender, received a similar sentence. OBSCENE LANGUAGE. Joseph Edward Beckett, a young man, was charged with using obscene language in Sydenham Park, and also with drunkenness. He was severely admonished by the Magistrate, who fined him on the charge for obscene languege the sum of 20/- or one month. Being a first offender for inebriecy, a fine of 5/- or 24 hours was imposed.
