ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
» DROWNED IN THE HARBOUR. Press Association. AUCKLAND, June 3. A steward named C. Bain, employed on the steamer Monowai, was drowned in the harbour last night. He is believed to have fallen in the water while attempting to jump aboard as" the vessel was moving from her berth. Cries for help were heard, but a search under the wharf at the time only resulted in the finding of Bain's tweeA cap. . The body was recovered this morning. An inquest was held, and a verdict of accidental death returned.
