ESSAD PASHA'S ARREST.
REVOLT IN ALBANIA. TROUBLE BARELY BEGUN. By Cable.- — Press Association. — Copyright. DURAZZO, May 20. King William; a fortnight ago, learnt that Essad Pasha ■ was organising a coup He directed Essad Pasha to disarm his bodyguard of 800"men. Essad Pasha refused, and yesterday 5000 of his supporters in Durazzo commenced a revolt, Essad Pasha firing the first shot against the Palace. The commanders of the Italian warr ships landed 500 marines, with' machine guns, and these surrounded Essad Pasha's houlse and bodyguard. After a small resistance, Essad Pasha surrendered to the marines, who are now guarding the Palace. The trouble has barely begun. •
THE LATEST DEVELOPMENT.
(Received May 21, 11.30 a.m.) DURAZZA, May 20. Cabinet has resigned. [A cablegram on February 22 reported that an Albanian deputation, headed by Essad Pasha, formally offered the crown to the Prince, by whom the offer was accepted. On the previous day it was stated that owing to threats having been made against Prince William, a bodyguard of 250, drawn from the most important Albanian tribes, had been formed. A subsequeut message stated that Prince William V reception at Durazzo was successfully managed, Essad Pasha welcoming the Prince, who immediately appointed him an Albanian general.]
