PIGEON FLYING.
The Christchurch Homing Pigeon Society flew off another young bird race from Culverden on April 4. Forty-eight birds were sent, representing 17 owners. The birds were liberated at 1 p.m. in good weather, with a light easterly wind. The winner turned out to be Mr A. Hancock's Scotch Melody, which flew the distance of 55 miles 1050 yds air line in Ihr 32min 9sec. The following is the order in which they finished: — .
