SPIRITUALISTS' CONVENTION.

AUCKLAND, April 12,
The eighth annual convention of the National Association of Spiritualists is now being held in Auckland under the presidency of Mr W. C. Mason. Yesterday a public welcome was extended to the delegates. Mr J. T. M'Leod Craig, of Melbourne, occupied the chair. Mr W. G. Nation spoke on behalf of the association, and replies were made by Messrs A. Moffin (New Plymouth), Astridge (Levin), Nortontaylor (Christchurch), E. E, Lewis (Waihi), P. Sorensen (Progressive Association), M'Lea Craig (Progressive Association), Mrs E. C. Morris (Wellington), and Mrs Birsdale (Stratford). The convention will conclude on 'Monday. The annual gathering of the society and friends was held this morning with a good attendance of North Island spiritualists and a few from the South. Delegates were welcomed from England, Australia, and Tasmania, and letters were read from Great Britain and Australia concerning current events as affecting the society. The New Zealand branch of the society was authoritatively affiliated with the headquarters in London.
