AUSTRALIA'S NAVY.

QUESTION OF COALING.

WESTPORT MUST BE USED.

A STAETLING BEPORT. By Cable.—Press Association. —Copyright. (Received Marcli 21, 9.40 a.m.) SYDNEY, March 20. Senator Milieu, Minister of Defence, states that after exhaustive tests it has been decided that the Australian Navy cannot use Australian coal, owing to the large percentage of ash, clinker, and smoke. The vessels will have to use Westport coal, as in the past. In this connection the "Sun" has published an article declaring ' that the battleship Australia's boilers are already ruined by the use of Australian coal. This is officially denied.
