THE BECKENHAM PARK.
-■'•• •' " "v" ''■■.•'■'.■ ■■'■'-: .-■.?■ PREPARATORY WORK. J , The park at Bdckenham was in the rough not so long ago, but now there are evidences that before long it will be a worthy, addition to the city's recreation reserves. The area has been ploughed up and levelled, and part of it has apparently been sown down in grass. There should be room for quite a respectable number of sports playing areas. There are promises of future beauty in this park. The east end is bounded by the Heathcote Stream, and in time there will be a lovely slope towards its bank. The riverbank is already very attractively wooded, and with the expenditure of a little care and more money it could become just as picturesque as the Avon itself. Preparations are being made for the erection of the Beckehham .School on the site adjoining the park.
