MINISTER OF JUSTICE.
VISITS ADDINGTON PRISON.
The Minister of Justice (Hon. A. L. Herdman) paid a visit to the Addington (women's) prison this morning. The Minister was accompanied by the Under-Secretary of Justice (Mr C. B. Jordan) and the Deputy Prisons Inspector (Mr C. E. Matthews). Mr Herdman was agreeably surprised at the progress that had been made since his previous visit. Another thing that struck him was the excellent work done by the prisoners in the garden, which showed healthy crops of vegetables.
