NO '"WET" CANTEENS AT TRENTHAM.
AUCKLAND, this day. Replying to a W.C.T.U. deputation, Mr Allen said, he had already given assurance that no wet canteens would bo established at Trentham. Legislation would not allow it; although, if ho .were prepared to do so, there was a possibility of , getting round the law, but he knew the effect of liquor m canteens, nnd did not intern! to alter the existing arrangements.
