Fruit. — Market barely supplied' with -apples this week. Choice fruit meets with ready sale. Tomatoes : Hothouse, 5d to 6d. Apples : Cooking, 2d to 2Jd ; inferior, 2s to 3s per case; dessert, 2d to 3d. Pears : Best -sorts, 2d to 3£d ; cookers, lid to 2Jd. Grapes, Is. Oranges: Tahiti, 7s to 8s; Fiji, 6s to 6s 6d; Mildura, 12s; Sydney, 8s 6d. Bananas, 2Jd. Lemons: Auckland, 7s 6d to 9s; Mildura, 13s.
Produce. — Fresh butter, 7d to 9d; prime salt (has little inquiry), 6d to 7Jd ; factory 9|d. Eggs barely supplied. Bacon: Roll, 7Jd to 7Jd. Hams, Bd. Pigs, 4Jd. Cheese: Factory, 4d to 4Jd; farmers', 3?, dto 4d. Onions, £3. Potatoes: Derwents, 30s to 37s 6d. Poultry. — Hens, 2s to 2s 6d; roosters, 2s 9d to 3s 6cl ; ducks, 3s to 4s. Turkeys : Hens, sd ; oocks, 7d to Bd. We receive any day'""for sale, and can place immediately on arrival.
