Messrs Moritzson and Hopkin report for •week ending May 31 : —

Wheat. — There is a good demand for prime Bamples, but other descriptions are hard to place. The demand for fowl feed is not so brisk. We quote: Best velvet, 2s 4d to 2s 6d; best Tuscan, 2s 3d to 2s sd ; fowl -wheat, Is lOd to 2s. Oats : The bulk of arrivals being for storage, all coming forward for sale have met with a ready sale. We quote : Best feed, Is 4d to Is 4Jd ; medium and inferior, Is 23 to Is 3Jd per bushel ; Sutherlands, 1b 5d to Is s|d. Barley : Feed sorts are quoted at Is 6d to Is 9d ; milling, Is lOd to 2s; prime malting, 2s 9d to 3s 4d; medium, 2s 4d to 2s Bd. Ryccorn, nominally 2s to 2s 6d. Flour : We quote £7. Oatmeal in 25's, £8. Pearl barley, £12. Bran, £3. Pollard, £3 10s. Nelson hops are quoted at '8d to lid (f.0.b.). Chaff: Supplies being heavy prices ' show no advance. Prime, £2 5b to £2 7s 6d; medium, 37s 6d to 42s 6d. Ryegrass: 3?ew sales aTe being made here, farmers being inclined to hold in the meantime, to see if prides will improve. Buyers' ideas of values are from Is 6d to Is 9d for ordinary farmer?' dressed seed, and up to 2s for exceptionally good samples. We quote: Farmers dressed, Is 3d to 13 9d ; machined, 2<3 Gd to 3s. Cocksfoot, 2Jd to 3Jd for farmers' lots, and 4^-d to 5d for machined. Linseed, £10. "Pressed straw, 255. Clover lay, £3 to £3 10s. Nitrate of soda, £15. Clovers, rape, etc., all fresh. We" can offer all classes of seeds pure and fresh. Potatoes. — Arrivals have been heavy and " prices are easier. Kidneys, 27a 6d to 30s; Derwents, 30s to 32s 6d per ton. Sheepskins. — We offered a large catalogue at our usual sale on Tuesday. Competition was very active, and prices ruled firm at late advance. Fine-woolled skins were in special request, and brought extreme prices. We sell by auction every Tuesday. " Eabbitskins. — We offered a good catalogue this week. Competition was hardly so keen as of late. We sold best from 18d to 21d per 1b for autumns and incomings; summers, from 12d to 15d; and small from 5d to 8d per lb; winters, 21d to 22d per lb. We undertake country clearing sales.

FRUIT AND PRODUCE REPORT.

Butter cases with parchment, 18s per dozen. Butter.— Prime dairy (No. 1 grade), No. 2, 6d ; milled, 6d to 7d for choice. Please note. Consignors of butter must consign to us, Dunedin, not Port Chalmers. Home shipments now stopped. Pigs. — For good quality, to 4Jd. Poultry received for sale any day. Boosters, 2s 9d; hens, 2s to 2s 3d; ducks, 3s 6d to 3s 9d per pair. These quotations are for prime quality.

We hold auction sales of grain and produce every Monday, and fruit daily. We invite all farmers, when in town during the Winter Show, to inspect our seedcleaning plant.
