The Susso-Chinese Bank is negotiating for an extension of the Cheng TingTaiyuenfu railway to Singanfu, which will possibly be the future capital.
M. De'Giers has warned the Tsung-li-Yamen not to grant a concession for a railway from the south to Taiyuenfu without first obtaining the consent of This request was made in the face of ihe fact that a British syndicate had already notified its intention to construct that railway.
LONDON, May 30.
The Times says that Russia is attempting to throttle British enterprise everywhere north of the Yang-tse watershed.
