The Government steamer Tutauekai, with Lord and Lady R&nfurly and party, arrived early tbis morning. At 10.30 his Excellency was welcomed to the proviuce by deputations from the Lyttelton Harbour Board and the Lyttelton Borough Council, and presented with an illuminated address by the mayor. He Alter* wards visited the principal places of interest in Lytitelfcon, and was tate'n in the Harbour Board's tug to Fort.Jervois and round the harbour. The Lyttelton Navals, under Lieutenant Joyce, formed *, guard of honour. The Governor and party proceeded to ChrUtchurah by the 2 p.m. train.

The Governor this afternoon presented the oertificaEes won during the year by the members of the local branch of the St. John Ambulance Association. In miking the presentation he " referred to tie origin of the parent society, of which he is a member, and expressed pleasure at so niany policemen taking certificates.
