The annual meeting of the Peninsula Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held at Portobello on Saturday last, and attended by Messrs MAuley, Porterfield, Milue, Scott, Lewis, North, Allen, Hiukley, Duckmanton, Cox, and Brooks. Mr Duckmanton was in the chair. The Chairman reported that, with Mr Kerr, he had audited the books and found them correct. He was able to give the members a very good report of the society's finance. Alter paying all liabilities there was a -^cry substantial credit balance to commence this year's operations. The report was adopted, and a vote of thanks was passed to the outgoing committee. The committee suggested that the new committee should give a champion prize of £2 for the best Alderney and a similar prize for the best Ayrshire milch cows, to be judged in their respective classes. Mr G-. G. Russell was again elected president, and Messrs Duckmanton, Kerr and C. Weir vice - presidents. Nearly all the old members of committee were re - elected, with a few new members added in place of those resigned. The newly-elecled committee adopted the recommendation given above as to special prizes. It was resolved to hold the annual show on the first Saturday in January if the Blueskin Show is not to be held on that day.
