THE GORE-KELSO RAILWAY. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir,— l doubt not, Mr Editor, but that yon are aware that the report of the Royal Commission does not generally agree with public opinion, neither do the Government coincide with the report, as they are proceeding with works unfavourably reported upon. Did your Glenkenich correspondent report upon affairs ia his own district alone, and not repeatedly speak disparagingly of the matters connected with others, I Bhould not trouble you. Notwithstanding his previous futile effasion, we have a goods-shed at East Gore, and also, I believe, a flourishing school afc Chatton. The coat of a survey of tbe Gore-Kolso railway ought not to be considered, or even the making of so important a line, although it is short, benefiting as it would alar#e and important agricultural district. — I am, &c., Justice. Chatton, August 16fch.
