NORTH OTAGO HORSE PARADE.

(North Otago Times.) The annual horse parade, under the auspices of the North Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association, took place on Saturday on the grounds of the Association. There was a large number of entries, and probably the finest draught blood in the Colony was represented. Since the inauguration of these parades the number and quality of tha stock brought out could not be compared with that oE Saturday. Amongst the draughts there were several late importations, and some of these will be a decided acquisition to the district;. The horses with which breeders in the district are well acquainted, and which have appeared in the trysting ring at the annual show of the society on former occasions, were also well represented. Amongst the new arrivals there are several horses of a decidedly good stamp, but the district for a number of years has possessed draught sires which will compare favourably with those of any part of the Colony, and it will bo a difficult matter to relegate them to inferior positions The interest taken in the parade by farmers was greater than in former years, if the number of those who attended in the capacity of onlookers can be viewed in this light. Thoroughbreds were represented by three animale, carriage horses by one, and roadsters by one. We refrain from commenting on the good or bad qualities of the animals on parade, leaving that to those who are more immediately interested in the breeding of stock, and whose opinion on the subject) we freely confess we have a greater reverence for than ws have for our own. The following is a list of the horses which took part in the parade, In the order in which they were received by the Secretary : — DKAUaiIT HORSES. Mr Jas.
