Tuesday, 7th October. THE POLITICAL SITUATION.

In the Council today, after some formal business, Colonel WHITMORE proposed the postponement of all business on the Order Paper, an he and his colleagues were about leaving office, and he wished to undertake no further business. Colonel Whitmore then thanked the Council and Speaker for their kindness and assistance, and hoped any hasty word spoken in heat would be forgotten.
