In addressing a political meetingatOambridge, Sir William Vernon Harcourt, M.P., attributed much of the prevailing distress to the Government neglect of Home affairs, wars being needlessly provoked in Afghanistan and Africa. Dutch sales of tin show a marked advance on the English tin market. Prices are hardening. Present quotation, £75 per ton.
