The Sultan is desirous of an alliance between Turkey and Austria for the purpose of securing the execution of the Berlin Treaty re Bulgaria and Boumelia, and checking the machinations of Russia.
Agrarian outrages are alarmingly increasing in Ireland.
The London Daily Telegraph considers the Hon. Graham Berry'a Reform Bill illadvised.
October 6th.
News from Afghanistan states that General Roberts has restored communication with Cabul, and that the British are overcoming the opposition of the mountain tribes.
The troops are within 15 miles of Cabul, and it is believed they will occupy the city in a few days.
The relations are becoming exceedingly strained between England and Burmah. The British navy in Burmese waters is being strengthened.
