CRICKET.
A most interesting, match took place on Saturday last, between 11 of the Dunedin Club and 15 Colt 3, with Hendley, and, notwithstanding that the "young uns'' numbered among their ranks some of the best and most promising jplayers in the club— to say nothing of their captain, Hendley, who is a host in himself — they had to succumb to the older and more experienced veterans of the game, although they struggled bravely to the last, and that regardless of wind and weather, which were not over-propitious. On behalf of the Colts, Hendley with 15, and Morison with 12, were the only double figures, while on the Club side Downe3 headed the list with the very respectable score of 31, M 'Donald 14, Beal 13, and Rattray 12. The smallness of the scores recorded on Saturday, in most instances, may be attributed to want of practice, this being the first time that many of the players had handled the willow this season.
