Wednesday, Nov. 8. Fat Sheep — 1510 entered. To-day's yarding consisted principally of gool-quality wethers, with a few pens of ewes. Owing tr the small yarding, prices advanced abou Is on laßt week's rate.. One line of w.ther. sold rat an average of 29s 3d. Best we shers5 hers 25s to 29s 3d; extra to; 365; good wet -ers 23. to2_s6d; others to 22s 6d. Tue t ewes sold up to 26s 3d. Fat Lambs — 82 penned. Prioas about the same as last week. Best, 6s o 18s. & Pigs— lo4 yarded. A small yardin larger part of which consisted of porkers and baconers. Prices for these were fully equal to last week's . Backers and slips were m short supply, and brought about last week's rates. .Suckers, §s 6d to lis; sllips, 12a^to 15s ; stores 17s to 255 ; porkers 26s to 3-8 ; 'light baooners 35s to 395, heavy baconers'4.3 to 465 ; choppers up to 60s Fat Cattle — 144 yarded. At last week's sale cattle were up something like 15s per head, and this week the market, at the on - set, was firmer by another 10s. About tbe middle of the sales prices momentarily re. ceded rather abruptly, but recover* d, and, at the end, beef was dearer than last weekThe cause of the gradual firming of the market during the last few weeks is the scarcity of feed through all districts, and the consequent sh. -tage of prime beef.
