The coroner, at the opening of the inquests on. the air raid victims, said it pleased the all-'liighest German War Lord to make England suffer in this way. It was really murder, but there was 110 use in bringing in a verdict of murder. The Germans might bo assured that their methods would not hasten the peace which the Germans desired. The English were not cowards, nor afraid to die for their country. PROBABLE PROTEST BY THE POPE. Iloutor'a Telegrams. ROME, June 15. (Received Juno 17, at 5.5 p.m.) It is stated that the Pope is preparing a remonstrance to Germany in regard to the London air raids. NAVAL AEROPLANES BUSY. GERMAN AERODROME ATTACKED. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association and Reuter. LONDON, June 16. (Received June 17, at 5.5 p.m.) The Admiralty reports that naval aeroplanes dropped a large number of bombs on an aerodrome at St. Denis Westrem. Many direct hits were observed, dense columns of smoke and flames arising. All the machines returned. QUESTION OF REPRISALS. SCENE IN PARLIAMENT. A DEFIANT MEMBER. Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association LONDON, June 15. In the House of Commons there was a disorderly scene when the question of air reprisals was mentioned. Mr Pemberton Billing asked Mr Bonar Law to move the adjournment in order to discuss the question. Mr Bonar Law refused. Mr Billing then began to criticise the weakness and apathy of the Government's air policy. He defied the Speaker when called to order, and demanded l an answer to his question amidst angry cries of " Sit down." The House went into committee, and as Mr Billing persisted in defying the chairman he was subsequently escorted outside.
