"MARRIED MAN'S" LETTER. TO THE EDITOR.

Sir, —"A Married Man's" views are surely very narrow. Are " single fellows "to have no chance of making a home for themselves aud taking up some of " Married Man's " daughters ; or is the world to come to an end with him ? I dare say your correspondent means well to save "young follows " from a lot of " trouble," but his views are too selfish aud contracted. Is he to have, like the quern bee, the sole right of reproduction, the monopoly of home and all its pure affections and sweet influences? Surely he does not mean it, yob that is what his demand amounts to. Would it not be batter for him "and the like of him" to continue to make his wife assist him a little iv earning the "bniruies' bread," and toutilise his children in some way that would both materially assist him and fit them for something useful themselves. I am afraid that our education system has a deal to answer for in keeping children idle till they are 15, and not only depriving many a " troubled lather " of their assistance, but burdening him with a useless load of civilisation. How is it that one cauuot get a girl to assist in household duties for love or money ? How is it that one cannot get a wife to milk a cow or take v little care of her husband's income, not to say his breeches? If "Married Man "would send one his girls into respectable families to learn a little of life instead of literature, it would be better for him, better for them, and better for the " young fellows" that ho deprecates getting employment. —I am.&c,

Waimate, March 19. Single Fellow
