Constable Blackwell has admiirahle courage but is sadly lacking m judgment. As he was riding -his wheel routid the Hotel Cecil corner tho other day hd disputed the roadway with Mr Wardell's motor car. Of course the motor car won, but the peeler reckons, he will get damages for his injured bike. Blackwell comes from the Great Barrier Island, and consequently is ■ only a novice at., cycling.' They daren't mount a wheel on that particular chunk of puftiice stone or they'd ride over the edge.
